NYC Theatrical Premiere, One Week Only!
*** Writer-Director MADELEINE OLNEK in person at All Shows,
with Special Guests all week long! ***

"Sweet, funny, clever comedy... Olnek's sensibility is singular, and the work of the cast (notably the sweetfaced Haas and the hilariously robotic Ziegler) make for a movie that seeks, and earns, affection."
- John Anderson, VARIETY
"A hilarious date movie for couples of all orientations."
- Justin Lowe, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
"Inspired silliness… slyly subversive!"
- Melissa Anderson, THE VILLAGE VOICE (Jan. 4, 2012)
"[A] witty ode to urban love and shoestring sci-fi... Photographed in crisp black and white by Nat Bouman, this enormously likable movie keeps sexual politics on the back burner and the universal search for connection front and center."
- Jeannette Catsoulis, THE NEW YORK TIMES (Jan. 5, 2012)

Nominated for the "Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You" Gotham Award, CODEPENDENT LESBIAN SPACE ALIEN SEEKS SAME is Madeleine Olnek's wryly funny mashup of New York romantic comedy and 1950s sci-fi spoof. The tongue-in-cheek cult fave of Sundance, Rio de Janeiro, Sarasota and Newfest makes its NYC theatrical premiere with a week-long run, January 6 - 12.
Three extraterrestrials from the planet Zots are sent on a mission to rid themselves of romantic emotions, which are considered toxic to their planet's atmosphere. They are told to have their hearts broken on Earth, where such heartbreak is considered a given. Promiscuous and sassy Zylar (Jackie Monahan) and the ever-clingy Barr (Cynthia Kaplan) unfortunately fall in love with each other, while Zoinx (Susan Ziegler) meets Jane (Lisa Haas), a mild-mannered Earthling who lives an uneventful life and works in a stationary store. Unaware that the sudden object of her affection is from outer space (despite her bald head and monotone speech), Jane falls hard for Zoinx. The feeling is mutual.
Meanwhile, two undercover government agents (Alex Karpovsky and Dennis Davis) are following Jane in order to find the spaceship and cover up the aliens' existence. Their bizarre, comical espionage reveals itself to be something other than what it seems...
75 minutes. In English. Presented in Blu-ray. Unrated.
